Hint: Since Blender 2.62 the Blender Collada exporter works again for OpenSim and compatible online worlds. We seriously recommend to upgrade to Blender 2.68

The Collada Implementation of older Blender releases did not work reliably for usage with OpenSim. But we have found a workaround and created the SL Collada Addon for Blender 2.59, 2.60 and 2.61

CAUTION: This addon only works for the indicated Blender releases !!!

SL Collada

The reason why Blender did not work properly for OpenSim was mainly because the rotations in Blender where handled differently compared to what the mesh Importer expects to see.

Install

Download for Blender 2.59/2.60/2.61. The exporter is packed into one single python file.
Open Blender’s addon installer and Install the downloaded file just like you do with any other Addon
