This workflow is about how you can achieve this.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rhcol span7\">\n<p>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-053.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-841 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/avastar.online\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-053-300x179.png\" alt=\"reference-053\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-053-300x179.png 300w, https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-053.png 571w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<div class=\"symple-box  blue center \" style=\"text-align:left;width: 80%;\"> We expect that your Mesh is already Bound to the Avastar Armature and it has been weighted reasonably. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Note:<\/span> <\/strong>By default the Appearance sliders will be automatically activated when you use the Avastar Bind Tools. However you can disable this setting on purpose. Or you might have upgraded from an older Avastar Rig.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3><i class=\"fa fa-battery-0\"> <\/i> Before attaching the Sliders<\/h3>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<ul>\n<li>Select your mesh in Object Mode<\/li>\n<li>Open the Tool Shelf -&gt; Avastar Tab<\/li>\n<li>Open the Skinning Panel<\/li>\n<li>Check that <strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">No Sliders<\/span><\/strong> is selected<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"symple-box  yellow center \" style=\"text-align:left;\"> When this button set does not appear, then your mesh is not bound to an armature.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-054.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-844 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/avastar.online\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-054-267x300.png\" alt=\"reference-054\" width=\"267\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-054-267x300.png 267w, https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-054.png 312w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 267px) 100vw, 267px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3><i class=\"fa fa-battery-2\"> <\/i> Attaching the Sliders<\/h3>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<p>Not a big surprise. Just enable the SL Appearance Button. Now the SL Appearance Sliders should work on your mesh<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-055.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-846 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/avastar.online\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-055-252x300.png\" alt=\"reference-055\" width=\"252\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-055-252x300.png 252w, https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-055.png 292w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 252px) 100vw, 252px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3><i class=\"fa fa-battery-4\"> <\/i> Caveats<\/h3>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<p>When you have a mesh that is weighted only to classic bones (mBones) then only a specific subset of your sliders works for the mesh. This subset is marked with a white bone icon on the left side of the slider. technically this set of sliders only changes the (longitudinal) lenght of the mBones<\/p>\n<p>In the image aside the two sliders for <em><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Height<\/span><\/em> and <em><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Body Thickness<\/span><\/em> will change your custom mesh provided the mesh is weighted.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-056.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-848 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-056.png\" alt=\"reference-056\" width=\"292\" height=\"227\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<p>When your mesh is also weighted to Collision Volume Bones (Fitted mesh bones, or cBones), then a couple more sliders become active on your mesh. The fitted mesh Sliders are marked with a magnet icon.<\/p>\n<p>In the Image aside now also the Body Fat Slider will affect your mesh provided the mesh is weighted to the Collision Volume Bones (cBones).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-057.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-849 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reference-057.png\" alt=\"reference-057\" width=\"292\" height=\"227\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>When things go wrong<\/h3>\n<p>When your mesh does not react on the Sliders, then check this list<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is the Mesh rigged to an Armature?<\/li>\n<li>Has the mesh Bone Vertex Groups defined?<\/li>\n<li>Is the SL Attachment button enabled (in the Skinning Section)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Pitfall:<\/span><\/strong> This applies when you have more than 1 custom mesh attached. Then it is possible that the SL Appearance button is only enabled for a subset of your rigged mesh items. In that case you may easily overlook that one mesh is not slider enabled.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<p>You can however enable\/disable the entire Rig byu just selecting the Armature and then enable\/disable the SL Appearance Button as before.
