{"id":560,"date":"2015-10-13T14:59:13","date_gmt":"2015-10-13T14:59:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/avastar.online\/?page_id=560"},"modified":"2015-10-13T14:59:13","modified_gmt":"2015-10-13T14:59:13","slug":"mesh-info","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/legacy\/help\/mesh-info\/","title":{"rendered":"Mesh Info"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<h3 class=\"span6 rhcol\">Mesh Info<\/h3>\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">[PS Showtime url=&#8221;http:\/\/blog.machinimatrix.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/map_mesh_info.png&#8221;]<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">The Mesh Info panel exposes details of the selected Mesh Objects like Vertex count and Triangle count, etc. The tool also makes some very basic checks on the Selected mesh Objects and informs you if it found anything remarkable.<\/p>\n<p>The panel is organized in 3 parts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Mesh Data statistics<\/li>\n<li>LOD Estimates (assumptions)<\/li>\n<li>Basic Quality Report<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.machinimatrix.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/mesh_info_01.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-22310\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.machinimatrix.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/mesh_info_01.png\" alt=\"mesh_info_01\" width=\"217\" height=\"425\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Mesh statistic<\/h3>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">The Mesh Info section displayes various statistics about the selected meshes:<\/div>\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.machinimatrix.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/mesh_info_02.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-22313\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.machinimatrix.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/mesh_info_02.png\" alt=\"mesh_info_02\" width=\"211\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Statistic Details:<\/p>\n<h4>Meshes<\/h4>\n<p>In Object Mode: the Number of separate Objects in current selection. In Edit Mode: the name of the edited mesh is displayed.<\/p>\n<h4>Verts<\/h4>\n<p>Total sum of vertices for all selected after all modifiers have been applied.<\/p>\n<h4>Faces<\/h4>\n<p>Total sum of faces for all selected after all modifiers have been applied<\/p>\n<h4>Tris<\/h4>\n<p>Total sum of Triangles for all selected after triangulation<\/p>\n<h4>UVs<\/h4>\n<p>total sum of UV Vertices for allselected<\/p>\n<h4>Materials<\/h4>\n<p>The number of Materials used by the selected object with the most number of materials.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Note:<\/span> <\/strong>Sometimes you may see values like for example &#8220;3 + 2&#8221; in the display. This indicates that the number of model faces assigned to a material (texture face) exceeds 21844. The SL Importer will then split the texture face(s) into chunks with no more than 21844 model faces and create one material for each of these chunks.The number of true materials is indicated in the first number (3 in the example). And the number of extra chunks is indicated in the second number (2 in our example)<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Hint: <\/span><\/strong>This can potentially result in too many (&gt;8) texture faces.<\/p>\n<h4>Deforming weight Maps<\/h4>\n<p>The number of found Weight Maps for the selected collection of mesh Objects.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Hint<\/span><\/strong>: When you click on the blue Info icon, then you get a more detailed report in a popup Message box.<\/p>\n<h4>Estimates<\/h4>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<p>This section displays the number of Triangles and the number of effective vertices for the automatic generated LOD&#8217;s of the SL Importer.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Note:<\/span> <\/strong>Only the High LOD triangle count is exact. The High LOD vertex count may differ slightly from what the SL Importer calculates. All other numbers are rough estimates. We do not know how the actual LOD calculations are done. We simply predict the numbers and this can fail at times.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<div id=\"attachment_22315\" style=\"width: 209px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.machinimatrix.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/mesh_info_03.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22315\" class=\"wp-image-22315 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.machinimatrix.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/mesh_info_03.png\" alt=\"mesh_info_03\" width=\"199\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-22315\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">High LOD Tri count and Server Cost are correct.
