So you no longer have to work strictly in T-Pose. You can model your characters and attachments with a better suited Rest pose (like an A pose for example) to bind your meshes and tweak the weights.<\/p>\n<h4>Some words of warning<\/h4>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"rhcol span7\">\n<div class='et-box et-warning'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'>You must be aware that this feature only works reliably when your character rig has been derived from the SL Default Rig by only rotating bones. As soon as you have edited joints by moving them around (translation), then very special rules apply and bind to pose no longer works as expected! And for adjusting the eyes to the mesh it is good to see the eye bones as well:<\/p>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"rhcol span7\">\n<ul>\n<li>Open the Rig Display panel in the Tool Shelf<\/li>\n<li>Disable the Shape Display<\/li>\n<li>Enable the Face and Hands<\/li>\n<li>Set the finger IK to Simple Fingers<\/li>\n<li>Disable the Eye focus bones<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open the Appearance sliders panel<\/li>\n<li>Set the gender to male<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now we are almost prepared to adjust the Rig to the mesh.<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-warning'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'>Important: We will work in Pose mode all the time and we will only(!) rotate the bones and use the Appearance sliders to adjust the bone sizes.<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rhcol span5\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1090.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6630\" src=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1090.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"386\" height=\"532\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1090.png 386w, https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1090-218x300.png 218w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 386px) 100vw, 386px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"rhcol span7\">\n<p>As a final tweak we will hide all face bones except the eyes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select all face bones except the eyes<\/li>\n<li>Press &#8216;h&#8217; on the keybord to hide the bones<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tip: You can later unhide the hidden bones by typing\u00a0 ALT h<\/p>\n<p>Now we can begin with the real work..<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rhcol span5\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1091.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6631\" src=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1091.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"386\" height=\"431\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1091.png 386w, https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1091-269x300.png 269w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 386px) 100vw, 386px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h4>The eyes<\/h4>\n<p>I adjust the eye height by reducing the Avatar height in the Body slider section. However, it is not possible to adjust the eyes exactly to the character&#8217;s face with the eye depth slider, because initially the Avastar eyes are located well in front of the character mesh. So i used a little trick here:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gender: Male<\/li>\n<li>Body height: 18<\/li>\n<li>I rotate the chest back by ~2.5<span class=\"st\" data-hveid=\"100\" data-ved=\"0ahUKEwiOuPPcuNzYAhWwhaYKHaLfDi4Q4EUIZDAM\"><em>\u00b0<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Then i compensate the rotation by rotating the Neck forward by ~2.5<span class=\"st\" data-hveid=\"100\" data-ved=\"0ahUKEwiOuPPcuNzYAhWwhaYKHaLfDi4Q4EUIZDAM\"><em>\u00b0<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Finally i set the eye depth slider to 23<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<div id=\"attachment_6636\" style=\"width: 396px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1092.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6636\" class=\"wp-image-6636 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1092.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"386\" height=\"431\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1092.png 386w, https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1092-269x300.png 269w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 386px) 100vw, 386px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-6636\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Initial (female default shape)<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rhcol span6\">\n<div id=\"attachment_6635\" style=\"width: 396px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1093.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6635\" class=\"wp-image-6635 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1093.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"386\" height=\"431\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1093.png 386w, https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/300\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image1093-269x300.png 269w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 386px) 100vw, 386px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-6635\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">final: with all changes set<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>If you get different results, then check that you have set the gender to Male in the Appearance sliders!<\/p>\n<h4>Fine adjustments<\/h4>\n<p>Thew eyes balls poke through the mesh. We have 2 ways to fix this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make the eye balls smaller (Eye size slider)<\/li>\n<li>Edit the character mesh a bit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I have chosen to edit the mesh:<\/p>\n<p>Note: Make sure that X Mirror is enabled. Make sure you have the Armature selected, and the Viewport Shading is set to Material preview. I used the arm appearance slider to adjust the arm length to 45. Furthermore i posed the arms just by rotating the bones in pose mode. However, i spent most time with adjusting the fingers.<\/p>\n<p>Note: I only pose one side of the armature and enabled x-Mirror (in the Tools tab in the N-Panel)<\/p>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div
