Note: It is not strictly necessary to convert your rig into a T-Pose. Avastar supports <a href=\"\/280\/workflows\/bind-pose\/\">binding to arbitrary poses<\/a> since a while. Basically this is an on the fly conversion from any restpose to T-Pose when exporting the Rig for SL.<\/p>\n<p>However, if you want to convert your Rig into a T-Pose Rig, then you can proceed as follows:<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1: Create a matching Armature for your mesh<\/h3>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<p>Bind your Mesh to the A Posed Rig. If you do not have an A pose rig at hand, then you can watch the video aside or\u00a0 read the document:<\/p>\n<a href=\"\/280\/avastar-2\/reference\/rig-to-any-pose\/\" class=\"symple-button default green   \" target=\"_self\" title=\"Visit Site\" style=\"border-radius:3px\" rel=\"\"><span class=\"symple-button-inner\" style=\"border-radius:3px\">Rig to Any Pose<\/span><\/a>\n<div class='et-box et-warning'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'>Note: If your mesh is already rigged to an A posed armature, then proceed to the step 2.<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/f0GFh6S4jPc?start=29&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Step 2: pose your rig into T pose<\/h3>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"rhcol span12\">\n<ul>\n<li>Select your Rig in Pose mode<\/li>\n<li>Pose your rig so that it is aligned to a T pose<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tip: Create an Avastar (only rig) as guideline to get your pose to match to the T Pose<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Step 3: Apply the Armature Modifier<\/h3>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"rhcol span12\">\n<ul>\n<li>Select your Mesh (in Object mode)<\/li>\n<li>Open the Object Modifier Stack (properties editor)<\/li>\n<li>Locate the Armature modifier<\/li>\n<li>Apply the Modifier<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>step 4: Clean up the scene<\/h3>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"rhcol span12\">\n<ul>\n<li>Open the Outliner<\/li>\n<li>Select the A Pose Armature<\/li>\n<li>RMB (right mouse) select hierarchy<\/li>\n<li>In the 3D Viewport &#8216;X&#8217; -&gt; Delete<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Step 5: Create a new Avastar Rig only<\/h3>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"rhcol span12\">\n<p>If you already have added a rig as i proposed in Step 2 , then proceed to the next step<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise create a new Avastar Rig only<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Step 6: Bind your mesh to the Rig<\/h3>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"rhcol span12\">\n<p>Bind your mesh to the T Posed rig as usual<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Convert from Any restpose to T-Pose This workflow applies to Rigs which have a restpose different from the SL restpose.
