You do this in the Add-on Preferences Panel of the Avastar-2 Add-on. However you also can also choose to create Avastar Meshes with Quads. Using quads is for most cases the better choice. You want to use triangles only when you must rely on the exact meshes from the SL definition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rhcol span5\"><a href=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/292\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image944.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-6217 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/292\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image944.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"251\" height=\"295\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"rhcol span7\">\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">The Rig Type<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>We support 3 Rigtypes<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic (legacy rig &#8211; 26 mBones)<\/li>\n<li>Extended (Bento rig &#8211; 136 mBones)<\/li>\n<li>Reference (puristic Avatar mesh only with SL bones)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rhcol span5\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/292\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image945.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-6218 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/292\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image945.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"251\" height=\"295\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"rhcol span7\">\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">The Joint Type<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The SL Rig supports 2 Joint types with very tiny differences. The reason why there exist 2 Joint types can only be explained as historic facts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Pos<\/span><\/em> Joints (Used by the System Character)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Pivot<\/span><\/em> Joints (Used for Custom meshes, default)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rhcol span5\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/292\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image946.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-6220 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/292\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image946.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"251\" height=\"295\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In most cases you want to use Pivot Joints. But sometimes (especially when it comes to foreign developer kits) you may need to use the Pos Joints to keep best compatibility with what you get in world.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Tip:<\/strong><\/span> we have not yet found a good reason for when to use the POS Joints (which are slightly less precise) But we found that for example the Belleza Developer kit uses them. When in doubt, then try out which joint type matches best for your purposes.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 3: Create the Preset<\/h3>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"rhcol span7\">\n<p>When you have specified your settings, then you are ready to create your new Preset by clicking on the white<strong> +<\/strong> sign right sided to the RigPresets Drop Down Menu.<\/p>\n<p>A small popup Window opens where you can give your Preset a name. You press OK to store your preset permanently. Please use only ASCII characters and avoid special keys and Umlauts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rhcol span5\"><a href=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/292\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image947.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-6221 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/292\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image947.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"251\" height=\"295\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"rhcol span7\">\n<p>From now on you find the new Preset in the Avastar Add menu<\/p>\n<p>Note: When you delete the Avastar default Presets, then this deletion is only valid for the current Blender session.
