So you no longer have to work strictly in T-Pose. You can model your characters and attachments with a better suited Rest pose (like an A pose for example) to bind your meshes and tweak the weights.<\/p>\n<h4>Some words of warning<\/h4>\n<p>Do not use this feature when your rig has been edited by moving the Joints to different locations. This is almost certainly the case when you are working on a creature Avatar. This feature only works reliably when you rotate the bones in pose mode and then <em>Apply as Restpose!<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"rhcol span7\">\n<div class='et-box et-warning'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'>You must be aware that this feature only works reliably when your character rig has been derived from the SL Default Rig by only rotating bones. As soon as you have edited joints by moving them around (translation), then very special rules apply and bind to pose no longer works as expected! The model was originally made by Lee Salvemini. The original of this file was downloaded from <a href=\"http:\/\/blendswap.com\">blendswap.com<\/a> but it seems to no longer exist there.<\/p>\n<p>We provide the shaolin blend as is and only for demo purposes. And for adjusting the eyes to the mesh it is good to see the eye bones as well:<\/p>\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"rhcol span7\">\n<ul>\n<li>Open the Rig Display panel in the Tool Shelf<\/li>\n<li>Disable the Shape Display<\/li>\n<li>Enable the Extra bones<\/li>\n<li>Open the Appearance sliders panel<\/li>\n<li>Set the gender to male<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now we are prepared to adjust the Rig to the mesh.<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-warning'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'>Important: We will work in Pose mode all the time and we will only(!) rotate the bones and use the Appearance sliders to adjust the bone sizes.<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rhcol span5\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/279\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/bindposes-005.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2963\" src=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/279\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/bindposes-005.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"242\" height=\"493\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/279\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/bindposes-005.png 242w, https:\/\/avalab.org\/avastar\/279\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/bindposes-005-147x300.png 147w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 242px) 100vw, 242px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h4>The eyes<\/h4>\n<p>I adjust the eye height by reducing the Avatar height in the Body slider section. However, it is not possible to adjust the eyes exactly to the character&#8217;s face with the eye depth slider, because initially the Avastar eyes are located well in front of the character mesh. We have 2 ways to fix this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make the eye balls smaller (Eye size slider)<\/li>\n<li>Edit the character mesh a bit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I have chosen to edit the mesh:<\/p>\n<p>Note: Make sure that X Mirror is enabled. I used the arm appearance slider to adjust the arm length to 54. Furthermore i posed the arms just by rotating the bones in pose mode.<\/p>\n<p>Note: I only pose one side of the armature. limits.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open the &#8220;T&#8221; Panel on the right side of the 3D View<\/li>\n<li>Locate the Rig Control panel<\/li>\n<li>Select the knee bones<\/li>\n<li>Disable rotation limits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now you can pose the knee bones as necessary.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"span6 rhcol\">\n<p><a
